Keep in mind the importance of monitoring your blood pressure. Take advantage of the opportunity to have it screened after Mass the weekend of November 11/12, in the back of church.
Once again this year we are asking all our parishioners to help with this fundraiser. Parishioners are asked to pick up their envelope containing three Raffle Calendars. We ask you to buy or sell those calendars between now and the end of the year. (If you would like more calendars, they are on the radiators in back of church, and at the receptionist's desk.) Many parishioners have bought them and given them to family and friends as gifts at Thanksgiving and Christmas. It’s a great gift that lasts a full year for just $20. Thanks to everyone for your efforts to make this a successful fundraiser!

Bishop David Ricken has asked every Parish in the diocese to schedule a monthly holy hour before the Blessed Sacrament. This practice is part of his pastoral plan that will focus on PRAYER for the next two years. Our next Holy Hour will be Friday, December 1st following the 12:05 Mass. The Blessed Sacrament will be placed on the altar and there will be prayers, scripture readings, and time for silent reflection.
Holy Hours and Benediction used to be popular devotions in parishes. It has been a while since we've held them at St. Joe's. Presumably, this is the case elsewhere. in bringing back this devotion, we hope many will find this as a means to appreciating the Eucharist and increasing our prayer life.
Share the love and comfort of Christ - wrapped up in a prayer shawl. If you will be visiting friends or family members who are dealing with illness, grief, death, loneliness, or needing a bit of comfort, we invite you to contact us so you can pick out a prayer shawl to as a gift for them. We have shawls for both men and women and would be happy to share them with you. Please contact the parish office for more information.
