What's Happening at St. Joe's

Contemporary Music Mass

Soul Sabbath

Soul Sabbath will lead our music on the first Sunday of each month at the 10:00 a.m. Mass. Our next Contemporary Music Mass will be June 4th

Time Capsule Sunday

As the concluding piece to our Jubilee Year celebration, we are going to place a time capsule in the outer wall of church. This will happen after the 10:00am Mass this weekend - May 21st. All parishioners are invited to join us. Wear your Jubilee T-shirts if you have one! There will be a “Jubilee” ice cream social following the event. As we mentioned, we’ve invited Pope Francis. So far he has not declined, so we’re presuming that he’ll be flying in under secret cover. Hope to see you next Sunday after the 10:00am Mass.

Town Hall Meeting

We will be having our annual Town Hall meeting on Tuesday, May 30th in Holly Hall at 6:30pm.

Blood Pressure Screening

Keep in mind the importance of monitoring your blood pressure. Take advantage of the opportunity to have it screened after Mass the weekend of May 13-14, in the back of church.

Bishop's Annual Appeal

We are into the fourth week of this year’s BAA. So far 464 parishioners have responded with gifts totaling $73,694. That’s a great start towards meeting this year’s target of $66,628. Please offer a gift by using the pledge card and envelope that was in the letter that Bishop David Ricken sent to you. If you lost your card, there are additional pledge cards in the back of church. Thank you for your steady support!

Summer Action Retreat

Here’s a fun and good opportunity for boys in Grades 7, 8, & 9. Come to St. Lawrence Seminary in Mt Calvary, WI on Monday, June 19- Thursday June 22. This year’s theme, Be Bold, Be Catholic, aims to help students reflect on the role of service, community living and personal prayer with Jesus while learning to love like Him. Cost is only $50. If you have any questions, just ask Fr Jim (who went to high school there a long time ago). St. Joseph Food Program

The first weekend of each month, we collect groceries for St. Joseph Food Program. Our next collection weekend is: May 6-7. For more information about the St. Joseph Food Program and how you can help, visit their website: http://stjoesfoodprogram.org/

Eucharistic Holy Hour

Bishop David Ricken has asked every Parish in the diocese to schedule a monthly holy hour before the Blessed Sacrament. This practice is part of his pastoral plan that will focus on PRAYER for the next two years. Our next Holy Hour will be Friday, June 2 following the 12:05 Mass. The Blessed Sacrament will be placed on the altar and there will be prayers, scripture readings, and time for silent reflection.

Holy Hours and Benediction used to be popular devotions in parishes. It has been a while since we've held them at St. Joe's. Presumably, this is the case elsewhere. in bringing back this devotion, we hope many will find this as a means to appreciating the Eucharist and increasing our prayer life.
