Eucharistic Holy Hour

Bishop David Ricken has asked every Parish in the diocese to schedule a monthly holy hour before the Blessed Sacrament. This practice is part of his pastoral plan that will focus on PRAYER for the next two years. Our next Holy Hour will be Friday, May 3 following the 12:05 Mass. The Blessed Sacrament will be placed on the altar and there will be prayers, scripture readings, and time for silent reflection.

Holy Hours and Benediction used to be popular devotions in parishes. It has been a while since we've held them at St. Joe's. Presumably, this is the case elsewhere. in bringing back this devotion, we hope many will find this as a means to appreciating the Eucharist and increasing our prayer life.

St. Joseph Tuition Scholarship Program

Through an anonymous and generous benefactor, St. Joe's is able to offer three $2500 scholarships to a Catholic school for three St. Joseph families. We are encouraging families who are considering enrolling their child/ren in the St. Francis Xavier School System. These scholarships are also available to families currently enrolled or considering enrollment in another Catholic school system.

To apply for a scholarship, a family needs to write a letter to Fr. Jim Leary, asking for a scholarship. In your letter, please answer the following questions related to parish, school and community involvement:

  1. Describe how your family is active in our parish
  2. Describe how your family is active in your community.
  3. Describe how your family will be involved in your parish/school/community in the future.

Scholarship recipients will be offered it for the remaining years the child is at that academic level (elementary, middle and high school).

Deadline for applying for a scholarship is April 30, 2019. Scholarships will be awarded by the end of May, 2019
